I was asked to cover some sessions at the All Energy Conference and Exhibition 2015 in Glasgow: the UK’s largest renewable energy event. One piece filed from that day was Making Waves, published online and in Offshore Engineer’s September issue.
The speaker was Stephen Salter, emeritus professor of engineering design at the University of Edinburgh: a man often credited with being the founding father of the UK’s wave and tidal industry having pioneered the development of wave energy in the 1970s.
This was a highly technical piece conveying a theory that challenges current industry assumptions around tidal arrays.
